Adam Lallana has reportedly entered talks with Brighton manager Graham Potter ahead of a potential transfer, as his time at Liverpool draws to a close this summer with his contract expiring.

It’s been confirmed that the English midfielder is exiting Anfield after six years on Merseyside, after he was signed by the Reds from Southampton for £25million (BBC) back in 2014.

According to the Telegraph, Premier League outfit Brighton are frontrunners to win the race for the 32-year-old’s signature.

The report explains that Lallana is in discussions ahead of a potential switch to the South Coast on a free transfer.

Lallana collected his Premier League title medal this season with Liverpool after playing 22 games across all competitions, with 15 coming in the top-flight.

Despite becoming a squad player at Liverpool this campaign, he was a massive part of the team in the early years of Jurgen Klopp’s reign as manager and has had some memorable moments at the club.

He departs them having scored 22 goals and supplying 22 assists in 178 appearances.

TBR’s View – Lallana would be immense business for Brighton

Lallana may not have many more years left in the tank, but signing him on a free transfer would look an inspired piece of business of Brighton on paper and he would add real class to their squad.

He’s a technical central midfielder that would inject some quality on the ball, plus he’s a high-profile player that has earned 34 senior international caps for England and been a part of a formidable Liverpool team in recent years.

Lallana has had his injury problems in the past that have perhaps held him back, but he’s been available for Liverpool this season and Brighton boss Potter should be doing everything he can to try get a deal over the line.
