Former Leeds United loanee Jean-Kevin Augustin is set to sign a two-year contract with Nantes, according to a report from French outlet Ouest France.
Augustin’s situation has been a talking point for much of the summer for Leeds fans. He arrived on loan during the January transfer window as Marcelo Bielsa’s side looked to secure promotion to the Premier League.

The Frenchman however, struggled to force his way into Bielsa’s plans at Elland Road. And he barely featured as Leeds got themselves across the line in the Championship promotion race.
As noted by Foot Mercato however, there remains a large question mark concerning Augustin’s situation.

The striker is at the centre of a dispute between Leeds and parent club RB Leipzig over whether the Whites should have signed the 23-year-old permanently after sealing promotion.
That has meant that Augustin has been out of the picture with both clubs in recent times. Fortunately for the forward though, it now appears that he has the opportunity to start getting his career back on track.
According to Ouest France, he has joined Nantes on a two-year deal. It is noted that he has arrived on a free transfer.
Of course, that will not be the last that Leeds fans hear of Augustin. But it is fantastic news for the youngster that he can focus on playing again.
The past few months cannot have been easy for Augustin. But he is reportedly now back playing in Ligue 1 looking to help Nantes recover from their underwhelming start to the campaign.
