Report: Everton willing to sell Andre Gomes; Benfica and Porto keen
Everton are willing to sell Andre Gomes this summer, with the Sunday People (12/6; page 60) reporting that both Benfica and Porto want the 28-year-old.
Gomes has now made exactly 100 appearances for the Toffees. However, the Goodison Park faithful have only really seen glimpses of the kind of quality the midfielder has.
Obviously, he has had issues with injury, including that horrific ankle break suffered against Tottenham in 2019. But it is probably fair to say that he has proved to be a somewhat underwhelming signing.

Everton spent £22 million to make his move permanent. And the Sunday People (12/6; page 60) reports that Frank Lampard is now ready to let him move on as he looks to raise funds for his own summer plans.
And there is interest. Both Porto and Benfica are weighing up offering the former Barcelona man a route back to Portugal.
He has been on the books with both clubs. Gomes signed for Porto when he was around 12 years of age. Meanwhile, his professional career started at Benfica.

Everton to sell Andre Gomes
Much will depend on what asking price Everton set. They will surely struggle to recoup all of the money that they spent on Gomes.
However, letting him go on the cheap may not make a lot of sense either. If he stays and Everton can get the best out of him, he could be a surprise package next season.
Carlo Ancelotti previously suggested that he is a ‘fantastic‘ midfielder. Plus both Portuguese clubs could be in the Champions League next year, so they should have plenty of funds to work with.
Benfica, of course, could be about to cash in on Liverpool target Darwin Nunez. So Everton may fancy their chances of receiving a decent price.
