Ecuadorian outlet Ecuagol has claimed that Premier League trio Everton, West Ham United and Newcastle United are all interested in signing Lazio powerhouse Felipe Caicedo, who has turned out for Manchester City during his career.
Caicedo, now 31, is impressing at Lazio despite being behind on-fire Ciro Immobile and Joaquin Correa. Indeed, the bruiser is used as more of a plan B – coming off the bench more often than not to offer a different approach.
Despite starting just 11 of his 21 Serie A appearances this season, Caicedo has found the back of the net eight times – including one against Italian champions Juventus in a surprise 3-1 win. He has also laid on four assists in Italy’s top tier.
The report claims West Ham have made an offer for Caicedo, but Lazio have rejected such a bid. Everton and Newcastle are also keen but Lazio want Caicedo – who played 35 times for Manchester City between January 2008 and June 2011 – to stay.

TBR’s view – Caicedo the perfect plan B striker
Everton and West Ham boast Dom Calvert-Lewin and Seb Haller as their two first-choice strikers, but have little other option with plenty of quality. For West Ham, Albian Ajeti has failed since his move, and Michail Antonio is a winger.
Everton do have Moise Kean, but he too has struggled since his move from Juventus. Cenk Tosun has gone out on loan, while Oumar Niasse is completely surplus to requirements. So, bringing Caicedo in would be a good move for both.
But Newcastle need a striker more than most teams with Joelinton flopping, Andy Carroll on the treatment table and Dwight Gayle looking rusty in his last outing. Caicedo is needed by all three teams, but Newcastle more than most.
