Everton are in dire straits at present and are desperately in need of attacking reinforcements.

Frank Lampard’s Toffees are battling relegation following a run of seven games without a win.

On Tuesday, Everton fell to a humiliating 4-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

In addition, the Blues have also scored the fourth-least number of goals in the Premier League this season.

Everton star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has once again been plagued by injury problems.

Meanwhile, Goodison Park summer signing Neal Maupay has scored just once in 13 outings.

According to Foot Mercato, Everton have set their sights on FC Lorient and Nigeria star Terem Moffi.

As well as the Toffees, the likes of Aston Villa and West Ham United are also said to be in pursuit.

Moffi has caught the eye following a superb first half of the season, with 10 goals from 16 Ligue 1 outings.

The 23-year-old has also won seven Super Eagles caps and scored two goals.

Moffi’s price tag stands at around €20m (£17.5m), according to Jeunes Footeux.

‘An excellent provider of offensive depth’

A year ago, Total Football Analysis published an in-depth scouting report about Moffi.

They listed his main strengths as ‘intelligent offensive movement, positioning, powerful running ability and strength’.

‘Moffi is not a target man but an excellent provider of offensive depth,’ they wrote.

‘He scores most of his goals after being played through behind the backline and allowed to run off the defender’s shoulder.

‘However, his off-the-ball movement and ability to position himself well in the box, in general, is impressive. And he’s also good at providing a crossing threat, both for low and high crosses when his team is in the final third.

‘As a result, I feel Moffi has plenty of skills to suit different styles of play as a centre-forward and finisher, though you’d probably lean more towards a counter-attacking style.’

On Twitter, fans have compared Moffi’s style of play to the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Didier Drogba.

Moffi seems like a great shout for Everton.

He’s been impressing in Ligue 1 and on the international stage. His profile seems to fit Premier League football, he’s young, and his price tag seems reasonable enough.
