Everton have reportedly set sights on Udinese’s Beto following his impressive start to the season.

Frank Lampard’s Toffees are currently well stocked in terms of central attacking options.

Everton summer signing Neal Maupay scored his first Blues goal last weekend, helping his side beat West Ham.

Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is due to return from injury after the international break.

Everton also have Salomon Rondon in their ranks, though he has found game time limited.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport now claims Lampard and director of football Kevin Thelwell are eyeing Beto.

The 24-year-old has been in great form for Udinese, registering four goals from seven Serie A outings this term.

Beto hasn’t been a starting regular either – four of those appearances were off the bench.

The 6ft 4in striker’s efforts have seen the Zebrette record a five-match winning streak to go third in the table.

Overall, Beto has 15 goals from 36 appearances for Udinese since joining in 2021.

Gazzetta – via Sport Witness – claims Everton are one of several sides that are looking at Beto.

The ‘007s (spies/scouts) of Everton’ have been keeping tabs on the forward, alongside Borussia Dortmund.

Beto is now at the ‘centre of everything’ Udinese are doing well.

And it seems Everton’s efforts to keep track of that are ‘underway’.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Fiorentina and Napoli have reportedly been eyeing Beto in recent months.

Indeed, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is apparently ready to spend €30m (around £27m) on him.

‘Could develop into one of the most lethal strikers in Italian football’

Scouting website Breaking the Lines praised Beto earlier this year.

‘Standing at 1.94 m (6ft 4in) tall, the 23-year-old of Bissau-Guinean origins is a well-built striker,’ they wrote.

‘He is physically strong and can dominate in the air, but he has also displayed comfort with the ball at his feet and can make rapid surges towards goal.

‘Beto has proven to be a capable finisher so far in Serie A.

‘If Cioffi can utilize their talents and encourage Udinese to play expansive football, Beto could develop into one of the most lethal strikers in Italian football.’

And Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino is quoted by Area Napoli as saying: “He has the characteristics to become a player very similar to (Victor) Osimhen.
