Everton are looking to compete with AC Milan for the summer signing of PSG and Brazil defender, Thiago Silva.
According to a report from Le10 Sport, the Toffees are going to join the Milan giants in looking to sign the experienced international defender.
Silva has been a huge part of the success PSG have enjoyed in recent years. The Brazilian has helped the French giants to seven titles during his spell in Paris.
However, at 35, his contract is coming to an end and he is yet to sign a new deal, despite being offered a one-year extension. That leaves the door open for a potential move, with Goodison Park a potential destination.
Everton will be hoping to use the relationship of Carlo Ancelotti to swing things in their favour. The Italian boss worked with Silva in Paris previously and is clearly a fan of the defender.
Silva has long been regarded as one of the best in the world. Indeed, Mainz defender and former Metz loanee, Moussa Niakhate previously described him as ‘monstrous’ and insisted he is one of the world’s best, alongside Liverpool star, Virgil van Dijk.

It’s an obvious statement to make in that you’d expect teams like Everton to move for younger players.
However, sometimes an experienced signing can make all the difference. And in signing someone like Silva, Everton would be getting a player of true world-class quality.
His experience, ability, and general winning mentality could make a huge difference at Goodison. We’ve seen so often in the past how experienced players can boost teams.
If the Toffees do land Thiago Silva, it would represent a huge statement of intent.
