Everton are weighing up a move for Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, according to the Sunday Mirror (9/8; page 65).

The Toffees are looking to improve their defensive options during this window. Carlo Ancelotti’s men conceded 56 goals in the Premier League last season.

The Sunday Mirror (9/8; page 65) reports that Everton are interested in both Kurt Zouma and Tyrone Mings. However, they are also looking at cheaper options.

And it is suggested that Adarabioyo is a player who has caught the Toffees’ eye. The Sunday Mirror claims that his City contract expires next summer.

TBR View: Adarabioyo boasts potential and would offer Ancelotti versatility

Adarabioyo has actually made more appearances in the Champions League than the Premier League. In fact, he is yet to feature in the top flight.

He spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. He was also previously a teammate of Everton defender Mason Holgate at West Brom.

Some Everton fans may, understandably, prefer to see a more experienced option brought in this summer.

But Adarabioyo has impressed at Ewood Park. And he would arguably be a shrewd signing for Ancelotti as he can also play at right-back.

City meanwhile, have a lot of depth at centre-back right now following the arrival of Nathan Ake. So it would be little surprise if a potential move to Goodison Park appealed to Adarabioyo.
