Premier League outfit Everton are still keen to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the summer, according to Italian outlet Stadio Sport.

Andrea Pirlo is keen to offload some players in the summer as he plots his own recruitment drive, with the report claiming the Frenchman is in the firing line for the chop.

The 25-year-old has made 25 appearances this season but he’s only started 12 times in Serie A. He will have two years left on his contract in Turin at the end of the current campaign.

Rabiot joined Juventus from PSG in the summer of 2019 and has played 65 times in total for the Old Lady.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to flex his ambition with a move to sign the man with 10 France caps under his belt.

The report also suggests that the Toffees will do whatever it takes to land the midfielder – even if that means parting with the £26 million which Juventus value him at.

Rabiot can operate as a conventional central midfielder, or as a holding player deployed to protect the back four.

One stumbling block could be the player’s current salary. At Juventus, he earns £225,000-a-week and Everton are unlikely to offer anything close.

TBR View: Rabiot could be another stellar recruit for Ancelotti

Everton’s strategy in the transfer market changed significantly in the summer, with quality prioritised over quantity.

James Rodriguez, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Ben Godfrey have all been decent so far this season – but Ancelotti will want more.

He won’t be happy with simply reaching Europe this season and the summer will be viewed as a chance for the Toffees to kick on once again,

As a result, the pursuit of a player boasting the quality of Rabiot makes perfect sense and he’s another player who could thrive at Goodison Park.
