Everton have reportedly turned down an £85 million offer from Barcelona for Brazilian striker Richarlison. The Spanish club is on the lookout for a new striker with Luis Suarez currently injured and they see the Toffees star as the perfect replacement.
Sky Sports have claimed that Everton instantly rejected the offer because they are not willing to sell one of their star assets at any price. Carlo Ancelotti is keen to strengthen his squad and does not want to lose any of his key players this month.

The 22-year-old moved to Goodison Park from Watford in 2018 for a fee worth up to £50m (BBC) and has become one of the club’s most important players in the last couple of years. He has scored 24 goals in 65 appearances since his move up North and has also got six assists.
It is a move that would come out of nowhere but could prove to be one of value for Barcelona. Richarlison’s experience in the Premier League at such a young age puts him in good stead to develop well at the top level in the coming years.
TBR view – Everton should consider selling if another bid comes in from Barcelona

Richarlison is no doubt one of Everton’s most important players. He is the club’s second top goalscorer this season with 10 goals in all competitions and can score all sorts of goals.
However, £85 million is a gigantic sum of money that the Toffees could arguably better invest elsewhere in their side. Despite rejecting the first bid, Ancelotti should re-consider if a bigger bid comes in, but only if he has some other targets in the pipeline before Friday’s deadline.
