Report: Everton tracking Colin Dagba, who would sign contract until 2080 with PSG

It’s time to sound the Everton being linked with another right-back klaxon as reports in France are suggesting that the Toffees are keen on PSG defender Colin Dagba.

Le 10 Sport is suggesting that the 21-year-old talent is on Everton’s radar for the summer, despite the club already having Seamus Coleman, Jonjoe Kenny, and an option to buy Djibril Sidibe.

Everton have been linked with a host of right-back options in recent months, including Dagba’s team-mate Thomas Meunier as well as the likes of Santiago Arias, Emerson, and Bouna Sarr also being mentioned.

Dagba would undoubtedly be a brilliant recruit but with Meunier leaving PSG, it is hard to see the French club deciding to move on the talented defender who might finally be in line for more regular first-team action.

The player would also seem very committed to the club. Everton were being linked with Dagba last year but speaking to Yahoo Sport, not long after penning a new contract at the Parc des Princes, Dagba made it clear he would be happy to sign a deal until 2080 to remain at PSG.

“It’s a great pride to extend with Paris Saint-Germain. If I could extend until 2080, it would be nice too. I feel that the club is counting on me. I want to register in the long term with PSG. I would like to stay as long as possible at the club.”

Dagba is undoubtedly the sort of player Everton should be looking for. Young, dynamic, and with plenty of room to grow. But they do not need a new right-back and the player looks unlikely to want a PSG exit at the worst of times, let alone just before a potential first-team push.

This again looks like a rumour Everton fans can forget about.
