According to the Daily Mail, Everton are set to offer both Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy to Crystal Palace in exchange for Wilfried Zaha.
Tosun joined the Toffees from Besiktas in January 2018 for a fee of £27 million. However, the 28-year-old striker has failed to impress since his arrival on Merseyside. Last season, the forward managed just three goals in 25 Premier League outings.
Meanwhile, McCarthy’s time at Goodison Park has been ravaged by injury. The 41-cap Republic of Ireland international is a fine player, but his fitness is unreliable. However, considering Idrissa Gueye looks set for an imminent switch to PSG, as per L’Equipe, Marco Silva may be wise to hang on to McCarthy.

In any case, Crystal Palace would not be wise to accept an offer for Zaha that includes Tosun and McCarthy in exchange. A flop striker and an injury-prone midfielder would be more trouble than they’re worth for the Eagles to take on.
However, if the south London club do accept the offer then it would be quite the coup for Everton. Zaha would be a fine addition to Silva’s squad. His arrival would also represent a real statement of intent from the Merseyside outfit.
