Report: Everton targeting Bartlomiej Dragowski, but Polish stopper happy where he is

Everton have reportedly watched Polish stopper Bartlomiej Dragowski in action this season. That is according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, who also discuss interest in his services from AC Milan.

The report claims Everton, as well as Chelsea, are now targeting the shot-stopper, who has been in sensational form for Fiorentina this season.

Dragowski arrived in Florence with a reputation as one of Europe’s top young goalkeepers but struggled to make an immediate impact at the club after his 2016 move from Jagiellonia Białystok.

That saw him loaned out to Empoli in the second half of last season, where he proved to be a revelation. In one game, a 0-0 draw against Atalanta, the 22-year-old made a record-breaking 17 saves in one game.

Such impressive performances have clearly caught the eye and Everton are said to be keen.

Jordan Pickford is generally unchallenged as the Everton number one, so a potential deal for Dragowski is not beyond the realms of possibility.

However, the player has recently made it clear he has no desire to leave Fiorentina. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dragowski made it clear he has no desire to move on from the Stadio Artemio Franchi this summer.

“I don’t listen to them. I am from Fiorentina and I must do my best to try to bring the team as high as possible.

“I have chosen to extend the contract with Fiorentina because I strongly believe in this team and in this club. The president has made great investments and is a serious person.”

Everton may be interested in Dragowski, but it would seem the Pole has no interest in making the move to England or anywhere else this summer.
