Everton have offered talented youngster Korede Adedoyin a new contract, according to a report by All Nigeria Soccer.
Adedoyin is highly rated by Everton but his contract expires this summer. Several clubs have been sniffing around the prolific young striker.
Other clubs are reportedly trying to woo Adedoyin with some first-team guarantees. Everton cannot promise their academy starlet first-team football at the moment.
The 18-year-old is therefore set to weigh up his options. Does he extend his ties with Everton or look to move elsewhere?
Adedoyin has been a star performer for Everton’s U18 team this season. In 17 U18 Premier League matches, he has scored 11 goals and provided two assists.
He also has two goals in four FA Youth Cup outings to highlight his potential. Adedoyin will hope to develop into a future first-team star at Goodison Park.
The Nigeria U20 international apparently models his game on Wilfried Zaha and Everton will be hoping he can fulfil his potential.
But in the short-term, the Toffees face a battle to keep him. With other clubs hoping to sign Adedoyin, Everton are trying to get this contract over the line.
If he stays at Everton, his next career step would be a promotion to the U23 team. And then, Adedoyin would be aiming for a first-team breakthrough.
