French outlet Yahoo Sport have claimed that Everton are set to sanction the sale of giant striker Fraser Hornby to French side Stade Reims, who finished in a lofty sixth place in this season’s Ligue 1.
Hornby, 20, only ever played once for Everton’s senior side as one of many young players that played in a 3-0 away win over Apollon Limassol under Sam Allardyce. This season, he has been on loan at Belgian side KV Kortrijk.
In 14 appearances for the Belgian outfit, Hornby has impressed in glimpses – scoring four goals. Instead of returning to Everton, though, the Northampton-born striker is now expected to leave for Ligue 1 outfit Reims.
Reims are in with a shout of qualifying for the Europa League but must wait until August. However, that has not stopped the top-tier outfit from strengthening their squad and it appears 6ft 4in Hornby is set to join – for around £1.8million.

TBR’s view – Everton making a mistake in letting Hornby go
Ask many Everton supporters what they need, and the majority will tell you a striker to finally replace Romelu Lukaku should be high on the agenda. Cenk Tosun and Moise Keane have joined for big money and failed.
Dom Calvert-Lewin is by far the club’s best striker, and having spent so much money on trying to add competition to Calvert-Lewin, that the Toffees should have given Hornby a chance – especially given he is target man, somewhat a plan B option.
Without giving him a chance for a bargain figure, letting Hornby go is a mistake.
