Everton and Manchester City were amongst the group of clubs who were interested in signing Folarin Balogun before the striker decided to sign a new Arsenal contract, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Balogun’s future seems to have been a talking point for well over a year now. But it appears that he is ready to bring an end to the speculation over his situation.

According to the Daily Mail, he is set to sign a new contract with Arsenal, with an announcement imminent. His current terms were set to expire at the end of this campaign.
And his situation did not escape the attention of several of the Gunners’ Premier League rivals.

The Mail notes that Everton, City and Crystal Palace all looked at signing the 19-year-old.
TBR View: Premier League interest highlights how big a statement Arsenal may have now made
Arsenal fans have been imploring the club to get Balogun’s future sorted for some time. So they will probably need no reminding of how big a deal his new contract could be.
But the level of interest from their rivals just further highlights what a statement Arsenal look set to make.
A youngster potentially concerned about the pathway to Mikel Arteta’s first-team would be forgiven for being extremely tempted by the likes of Everton and Manchester City.
But Arsenal have seemingly made it clear to Balogun that he is already in the perfect place to realise his full potential.
