Everton are reportedly set to sign German goalkeeper Jonas Lossl following his exit from Huddersfield Town.
The 30-year-old’s exit from the Terries has been confirmed (official website) by the club following the expiry of his contract.
He was unable to keep them in the Premier League this season and is now available on a free transfer.
According to Foot Mercato, Everton are set to pounce to sign the shot-stopper and bring him to Goodison Park on a deal at least two years long.
The report details that he had a medical on Friday ahead of a switch to the Merseyside club, where he would be competing with Jordan Pickford for the number one spot.
Lossl may have been part of a poor Huddersfield team this season, but he had very little help defensively and still kept five clean sheets in the league.
The Denmark international proved his qualities in the 2017/18 season, where he managed 10 clean sheets in the Premier League and enjoyed a strong year in the top flight.
He would be a brilliant addition on a free transfer this summer and he would help keep Jordan Pickford on his toes.
Lossl is a 6ft 5in colossus goalkeeper that demands his penalty area well and can play out from the back too.
The arrival of Lossl would also allow Everton to potentially loan out goalkeeper Joao Virginia, who is highly-rated and needs some first-team action to help his development.
