Everton are still keen on adding Lille defender, Gabriel Magalhaes, to their ranks this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The defender, better known simply as Gabriel, has attracted attention this season after a fine campaign for Lille.

Indeed, Everton are one of a number of clubs being linked with a move to land the 22-year-old.
And according to the latest comments in the Echo, the Toffees do indeed remain keen on snapping up the Brazilian defender as Carlo Ancelotti eyes summer reinforcements.
The report claims that Gabriel is among a number of players Everton may target in the summer.
Everton haven’t been at their best defensively this season. They’ve conceded 46 goals in the Premier League, more than both Brighton and Watford who sit below them in the table.

The signing of a player like Gabriel could well shore things up. Indeed, Lille have only conceded 27 times this season in Ligue 1.
Everton currently have the likes of Yerry Mina, Michael Keane, and Mason Holgate on the books. However, Ancelotti could well look to add to that with the addition of Gabriel.
Reinforcements needed and Gabriel looks perfect – TBR View
Everton need to bring in some more defensive units over the next few windows. It’s been a blessing that Holgate appears to have settled under Ancelotti but they need more.
Michael Keane has been hit and miss at times while Mina missed half of last season with injuries.
Adding someone with the pedigree of Gabriel makes sense for a club like Everton. He shouldn’t cost the world and at 22, he has time on his side to adapt and improve.
Things have improved under Carlo Ancelotti but more will be needed if the club is to progress. Targeting young, hungry, and talented players like Gabriel, then, is a good place to start.
