Everton have reportedly received a seven-figure bid for midfielder James McCarthy from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
According to Sky Sports, Palace have made an £8million offer for the Republic of Ireland international.
It is understood that they want to bring him to Selhurst Park and West Brom previously wanted to take him on loan back in January.
McCarthy has become a fringe player at Goodison Park and unable to get back into the fold since he suffered a broken leg in January 2018.
The central midfielder returned to fitness at the beginning of 2019, but played just one first-team game during last season.
Everton should consider taking £8million for McCarthy, as he’s slipped down the pecking order at the Merseyside club and it would be good money for him.
The 28-year-old is on his day a no-nonsense enforcer, but his injury has knocked him back and he is entering the final year of his contract.
Fabian Delph has arrived this summer at Everton from Manchester City and that looks like a direct swap.
Toffees boss Marco Silva is building a squad that can try push for the European spots in the new campaign and that may mean shifting out some deadwood when he gets the opportunity.
