Barcelona winger Malcom is wanted by Everton. According to French media outlet RMC Sport, Everton are preparing a bid of bid of more than €35m (over £31.5m) for Barcelona outcast Malcom.

The Brazilian youngster only joined Barcelona from Bordeaux last summer. He had scored 23 goals and provided 16 assists in 84 games for the Ligue 1 club.

But he has found game time difficult to come by with the Catalan club. In his season with Barcelona, the 22-year-old only managed 24 outings, racking up a tally of four goals and two assists.

Malcom is expected to leave Barcelona this summer – either on loan or permanently. This report by RMC Sport adds that Arsenal are interested in Malcom. But Everton are in pole position.

Perhaps stalling because they want Wilfried Zaha, Arsenal’s hesitance could open the door for Everton. If the Toffees produce a concrete bid in excess of £30m, Barcelona could be tempted to sell Malcom to the Merseyside club.

Malcom would complete Everton’s lethal attack

With Malcom in their ranks, Everton’s attack would surely be strong enough to push for European qualification next season. Alongside fellow countrymen Bernard and Richarlison, Malcom would complete a devastating attacking midfield trio.

While he struggled at Barcelona, Malcom is still a very young and exciting talent. He can rediscover his touch in the right environment and Everton might be the perfect career step for him.

It is a well-trodden path now with Gerard Deulofeu, Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne all thriving after moving from Barcelona to Everton. Malcom could be the next to enjoy success at Goodison Park after struggling at the Nou Camp.
