Everton have reportedly reignited interest in signing Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier.

According to the Sun, the Toffees have renewed interest in the England international and are keen on bringing him to Goodison Park in the summer.

It is understood that the right-back is valued at around £20million considering he’s still got two years left on his deal.

The report details that Spurs are prepared to offload the 28-year-old at the end of the season due to his mixed form this season.

Trippier has had a frustrating campaign plagued by inconsistency and injuries, but still has a Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City ahead of him.

The full-back, who earns £65,000-a-week (Spotrac), would be an intriguing addition at Goodison Park.

TBR’s View:

With Seamus Coleman on the decline this season, it makes sense for Everton to target a new right-back ahead of the next campaign.

Trippier could be a really exciting signing for the Merseyside club if he arrives like the player he was at last summer’s World Cup with England.

He is a dead-ball specialist that would bring some extra attacking quality to the Toffees and help shake-up the defence.

But there would be a slight risk behind a £20million swoop, as defensively he can get caught out at times and he may already have peaked as a player.
