Swiss newspaper Blick have claimed that Everton are one of a number of sides interested in AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez, after the left-sided star fell down the pecking order at the San Siro.
A 67-time Switzerland international, Rodriguez joined Milan in the summer of 2017 from Wolfsburg for a fee of £13.5million and was a key player over the past two seasons – clocking up 88 league and cup appearances during that time.
However, Milan chose to bring in a new left-back in the summer, signing France youth international Theo Hernandez from Real Madrid. Rodriguez started the campaign, but Hernandez has since overtaken him – and scored against Genoa at the weekend.
It means Rodriguez is now sitting on the bench, remaining an unused substitute over the past three Serie A games. Everton are not the only side interested, with Atletico Madrid, Schalke, Dortmund and AS Roma also interested.
It is believed Rodriguez will be allowed to leave for a cheaper price than the fee they paid for him.

TBR’s view – Everton do not need Rodriguez
That is because Lucas Digne is becoming one of Everton’s best players, making the left-back slot his own. Even if the former Barcelona star is not available, Djibril Sidibe s more than adequate back-up on either side of the defence.
Even at a bargain price of less than the £13.5million Milan paid for him, Everton simply do not need the Swiss star.
