Everton are reportedly interested in the signature of talented Nantes youngster Edoly Lukoki Mateso, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The report is suggesting that the 16-year-old, who has scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists with the club’s under-17s this season.
A French under-16 international, it is clear that Lukoki Mateso is a player with bags of potential and Everton are now keeping tabs on the situation.
The report claims that Nantes are yet to make their intentions clear to the player regarding his future at the club.
Everton could, therefore, be looking to swoop on a potential youth bargain.
However, they will not be alone. Norwich City are also keen on the player whilst Arsenal have just added their hat into the ring.
Everton are always on the lookout for top young talents to take to Finch Farm, where the club has recently developed a fine reputation regarding young players.
Lukoki Mateso could however look at the likely pathway to first-team football or the inherent French links to Arsenal’s academy system from Arsene Wenger’s residual influence and decide one of Everton’s Premier League rivals are more suited.
Time will tell if any of the Premier League trio manage to secure the teenager’s signature this summer.
