Report: Everton man considering offer from London-based Premier League side

Turkish outlet Fotomac have claimed that Everton striker Cenk Tosun is considering a return to Crystal Palace this month but also has interest from Turkish league leaders Besiktas.

Tosun, 29, spent the second half of the 2019-20 season on loan at Palace from Everton but managed just five appearances in which he did score one goal. A knee injury cut short his stay at Palace and he returned in March.

This season, the £27million signing made by Sam Allardyce in January 2018, has managed only six outings under Carlo Ancelotti and is once again surplus to requirements. It is claimed Besiktas want to take him back.

However, Tosun wants to stay in the Premier League and it is claimed that Palace have made another offer for the German-born £60,000-a-week outcast (Spotrac). It is believed Tosun is seriously considering a Palace return.

TBR’s view – Tosun just needs game time and some momentum

Will he get that at Palace? Probably not. Christian Benteke is producing some excellent form that has not been seen in many years from the big Belgian, while Jordan Ayew is also an option for Roy Hodgson’s side.

Michy Batshuayi has been in and out of the side and will be desperate to do well between now and the summer to convince Roberto Martinez he deserves a Euro 2021 spot. Does Tosun start over them? He’s probably on a par.

If returns to Palace, he will be in and out of the side an while he may get more game time than he does at Everton – surely a return to Besiktas where he is a favourite makes more sense?
