Italian website CalcioMercato claim that Everton have made an offer to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, hours before the Frenchman scored in the Champions League during his side’s exit on Tuesday night – but the Toffees could miss out.
Rabiot, 25, joined Juventus from French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer – but since his move to The Old Lady, he has proven somewhat inconsistent. He has clocked up 70 appearances for the Italian champions.
This summer, Rabiot is expected to be on the firing list at Juventus. The report claims Everton have made an offer to sign a player that played under Carlo Ancelotti at the French club – with Rabiot looking for wages in the region of £115,000 a week.
However, Everton might not be the only side looking to sign Rabiot this summer. That is because Juventus are international in signing Paul Pogba, then they could use Rabiot to sweeten a deal for the return of the Manchester United ace.

TBR’s view – Rabiot would be a stunning signing
That goes for Everton, or any other Premier League club. Rabiot, at his best and with plenty of confidence in his ability, is one of the best midfielders in European football – he would be a huge coup for Everton.
Whether they need the France international is another question. The Toffees boast Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan, Tom Davies, Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes and plenty more central-midfield options. But if Rabiot is available, then you have to try.
