Everton have made an enquiry for Maxi Gomez, and The Telegraph reports that Valencia will be willing to sell the striker for less than £13 million this summer.
The Toffees have strengthened their options in the middle of the park this summer. Both Allan and James Rodriguez have arrived at Goodison Park. Meanwhile, as noted by The Telegraph, they are working on a move for Abdoulaye Doucoure.
And it now appears that Carlo Ancelotti is now focusing some of his attention further forward. The Telegraph reports that the Toffees have asked about Gomez.
Gomez has reached double figures in each of his three seasons in La Liga. He scored 30 goals in 71 league games for Celta Vigo, and bagged 10 times in his first year with Los Che.
However, it seems that he could be on the move again. The Telegraph reports that Valencia are looking to sell players and are willing to let Gomez leave for less than the £13 million that they spent on him last summer.
TBR View: Gomez could be worth a punt for Everton
Everton are seemingly not going to need to break the bank for Gomez. And given his goalscoring record, it seems to be something of a no-brainer to make a move.
He lacks pace. But he is fantastic in the air and could cause a lot of teams in the Premier League problems with his physicality.
Everton fans may be wary of another low-cost move for a striker performing well in La Liga after their disappointing move for Sandro. But Gomez has the potential to prove an incredibly shrewd investment for Ancelotti’s side.
