Report: Everton make contract offer to Under-23s star Nathan Broadhead
Nathan Broadhead has reportedly been offered a new Everton contract, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Broadhead, who has been at Goodison Park since the age of 10, has been a star this season in the Toffees Under-23s side. He scored 11 goals in 18 Premier League 2 fixtures.
The Liverpool Echo explains that Everton have offered the 23-year-old forward a new deal to extend his stay on Merseyside. It is believed discussions are currently ongoing with parties about his future.
His current deal expires at the end of the next month, but the report mentions a possible fresh two year contract could be a possibility if he decides to commit his future.
Broadhead is a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline, and he’s shown he’s a class above at times in the Under-23s age group.
He made his Premier League debut in April with a substitute appearance, and that was his second ever senior appearance for Everton.
Does Broadhead deserve Everton contract?
For Broadhead, he’s at an age now where he’s got to find somewhere to play first-team football.
A new deal is worth it if Everton plan to integrate him to their group next season. Alternatively, he could pen a deal and be loaned out.
The Welsh attacker should have plenty of suitors from lower down the football ladder if he becomes available.
Senior boss Carlo Ancelotti needs to work out who he wants in his squad next year.
