Everton have reportedly made contact with Barcelona regarding the availability of young defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
The youngster rarely plays at the Nou Camp having transferred from Toulouse in the January 2019 window, and is set to depart the club this month.
Apparently Barca are open to letting the Frenchman leave, but would insist upon a buy-back clause.
Everton see the 20-year-old as an option, with Carlo Ancelotti currently only able to call on three centre-halves.
Everton, of course, are no strangers to doing business with Barcelona, with Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes all signing from the Catalan giants in recent times.
TBR’s view – Todibo a big talent
Todibo hardly plays at Barcelona as a result of Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet being a firmly established centre-back pairing.
The club also have Samuel Umtiti in reserve, meaning opportunities are hard to come by, especially under the stubborn Ernesto Valverde.
Perhaps Everton can convince the youngster he’ll get more minutes at Goodison Park – Digne, Mina and Gomes have done fairly well since moving to Merseyside which may encourage the talented starlet.
