Everton have made a bid of £5 million for Rangers talent Nathan Patterson. The Mirror claim that Rafa Benitez is keen to land the Teddy Bears’ right-back during the transfer window.
The 19-year-old played for Scotland during Euro 2020 and has burst onto the scene at Rangers during the last season. In total, he has two senior caps to his name and looks set for a bright future.
Everton have four points to their name after yesterday’s 2-2 draw with Leeds United. They defeated Southampton on the opening day of the campaign and Benitez has settled well.

The Toffees are keen to sign another right-back before the window closes. Everton have Seamus Coleman in their ranks but he isn’t getting any younger.
Steven Gerrard raved about his right-back last season. Following a game against Celtic, he labelled him the best Scottish right-back in the leave and called him ‘outstanding’.
Now, Gerrard could be facing a fight to keep hold of his young talent. With Premier League clubs circling and Everton making a bid, the Gers could be tempted into a sale.
Benitez has been busy strengthening his squad during the close season. It would appear he isn’t content with what he’s got, however, and is now looking at a right-back.
Patterson could prove shrewd for Everton
With James Tavernier also in place at Rangers, it’s fair to say the Scottish champions could cope with the loss of Patterson.

The youngster is a superb modern-day full-back and he’d represent a quality addition to the Everton ranks.
The Toffees could enjoy a really good season under Benitez. He will hope to complete his squad though and adding Patterson looks like a priority right now.
