Everton have made an enquiry for Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, according to a report from Sky Sports, but the Toffees landing the centre-back is currently looking unlikely.
The Toffees have enjoyed an incredibly impressive window. However, the icing on the cake would surely come from Carlo Ancelotti bolstering his options at the back.

And it appears that they have stepped up their efforts to make a signing.
According to Sky Sports, they have made contact with the Canaries regarding a potential move for the 22-year-old. However, the Championship side want at least £25 million for the youngster.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports notes that Everton want a loan deal with their budget depleted by the moves they have already completed.
It is noted that the only possible way a move may be agreed therefore, is if Norwich decide to accept a loan that leaves Everton with an option to buy.
TBR View: Norwich surely won’t sanction Godfrey loan
It seems highly unlikely that the Canaries will allow Godfrey to leave on loan. He has started all three of Daniel Farke’s side’s games in the Championship this season.
Perhaps their stance could change if Everton committed to signing him permanently next summer and offered a substantial loan fee.
But with Norwich already looking for at least £25 million, it seems difficult to imagine Everton offering the kind of future fee that they simply cannot afford to turn down.
