Everton have made Ben Foster their number one goalkeeper target as Carlo Ancelotti looks to provide competition for Jordan Pickford, according to a report from The Sun.
Pickford appears to face an uncertain future at Goodison Park. The Daily Star reported earlier this month that he has struggled to convince Ancelotti, and it was suggested that he could even be sold.

The Sun suggests that Ancelotti is looking to provide competition for Pickford, rather than move him on.
And the report has claimed that Foster is sat at the top of their wishlist. Meanwhile, it is also suggested that Manchester United’s Sergio Romero is a target.

The Sun does note that Foster is also being tracked by Chelsea.
TBR View: Foster could be shrewd signing for Toffees
The 37-year-old is clearly not the long-term answer for Everton. But he could arguably be an inspired addition if Ancelotti is looking for a proven performer in the Premier League.
Despite Watford’s relegation, Foster’s form often attracted praise. There were few signs that suggested that he was coming towards the end of his career.
As competition for Pickford, he could arguably be a very good signing. He is good enough to step in if Pickford continues to struggle.
And with Watford getting relegated, perhaps he may be more willing to move somewhere where he may not play regularly if it means staying in the Premier League.
After all, if Ancelotti is indeed unconvinced by Pickford, he may not need to wait too long for an opportunity should he move to Merseyside.
