According to a report from Goal, Napoli will demand £14m from any club wanting to buy Arkadiusz Milik, with Everton one of the clubs said to be keen.

The Polish striker has fallen down the pecking order in Naples after coming close to the exit door in the summer. Everton, along with Spurs, were said to be keen on the forward, while the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus are also said to have shown interest.

Milik, however, stayed with Napoli but things haven’t worked out with that decision, with the player still pushing to move away and Napoli outcasting him from first XI proceedings.

But the Serie A giants have still set a fairly high asking-price on Milik. It is claimed by Goal that a bid of around £14m will be needed to prize Milik away from Italy.

Whether that puts Everton off, or they see it as a bargain for an international striker, remains to be seen.

With how things have panned out for Everton, Milik signing would only provide them with added depth, rather than a direct new number nine.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has secured that role this season so there is no need for a replacement, while Richarlison has also done well at the top end of the pitch.

However, £14m isn’t a huge amount of money in today’s game, so whether Carlo Ancelotti might see it as money well spent is something only he will know at this stage.
