Report: Everton “likely” to consider West Ham manager David Moyes

Everton are reportedly likely to consider West Ham boss David Moyes for the role as their next manager, and are starting to formulate a shortlist of candidates ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s expected exit.

The Times reports Real Madrid are “increasingly confident” they will be able to appoint current Everton boss Ancelotti as their next manager.

If Ancelotti leaves Goodison Park, it will be a shock to plenty of Toffees supporters. Marca claims though that Madrid will name Ancelotti as their coach “imminently”.

The Times states Everton are “likely” to shortlist Moyes as a target along with Nuno Espírito Santo and Eddie Howe.

Moyes, 58, is the current manager at West Ham.

His side are in the Europa League next season after a superb campaign at the London Stadium.

The Scottish boss helped his side win 23 of their 44 games across all competitions this season, and that equates to a 52 per cent win record.

Interestingly, Moyes spent 11 years with Merseyside giants Everton earlier in his career.

David Moyes to Everton seems a long shot

Everton are in a massive hole if Ancelotti joins Madrid.

Moyes is a proven talent at Goodison Park, so trying to tempt him to the club makes perfect sense. However, him leaving West Ham after recent success seems unlikely.

It’s not all gone to plan in his managerial career since he left Everton for Manchester United back in 2014, but right now he’s back to his very best coaching a talented squad at the London Stadium.

Everton would keep Ancelotti in an ideal world, especially as he’s still under contract with them until 2024. But it looks like they’ll need someone else to step up to steer the Everton ship.
