Everton are interested in Manchester City assistant boss Mikel Arteta, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
Marco Silva’s future at Goodison Park appears to have a large question mark hanging over it. The Toffees are just four points above the bottom three in the Premier League.

The Daily Mirror reports that Farhad Moshiri has decided against sacking Silva for the time-being. But it does appear that he is considering potential replacements.
Along with David Moyes, the Mirror reports that Everton are keen on Arteta. Meanwhile, the report has also suggested that Mark Hughes and Vitor Pereira have been mentioned. However, it is stated that both would be viewed as underwhelming appointments.

Could Arteta beat Moyes to Everton job?
It will be interesting to see whether Everton attempt to lure Arteta away from Manchester City. If any club has a chance of tempting the Spaniard, it may well be the Toffees given his connection to the place.
Arteta made over 200 appearances for the Toffees. And it appears that it is the manager who he played under on Merseyside that he may be battling with for the job if Arteta is interested.
Moyes looks to be the much more attainable target. He is out of work, and would surely love a chance to return to Everton.
But Arteta arguably looks to be the more exciting option. He is currently learning from the very best at City. And it looks to be a matter of time before his own managerial career gets up and running.
If Everton have their pick of the names mentioned in the Mirror’s report, it seems to be a no-brainer to snub Moyes for the man who was such a key part of the club’s success during the Scot’s tenure.
