Everton are seemingly interested in a deal for Lyon attacker Memphis Depay this summer, according to a report in Italy.
AC Milan are leading the way in the hunt for the Dutchman, whose contract expires in 2021. A report from Calciomercato suggests that the Rossoneri will need to pay €30 million (£26.8m) for the player, a fee they are not currently willing to spend considering the global health crisis and his contract expiry date.
The report then says that Milan will sit on the deal but they will need to ‘be careful’ as Everton and Carlo Ancelotti could provide competition.

Depay would undoubtedly be a top addition for Everton and the Goodison Park transfer supremo Marcel Brands would surely be keen.
He was sporting director at PSV Eindhoven for Depay’s emergence onto the scene and sold the player to Manchester United.
Speaking to the press after Depay moved to United (as reported by MEN), Brands was glowing in his praise of the talented attacker.
“Memphis has gone through all the teams of the PSV youth academy and has played an important part in the national title this year. He’s a wonderful exponent of our training and will make a nice transition to a magnificent club in a beautiful competition.
“We lose obviously a fantastic player, which is of great value to the team. But very PSV grants him these wonderful step.”
Depay has rehabilitated his reputation in France although injuries have badly impacted him throughout the 2019-20 season.
However, he remains a top player who has been in fine form both for Lyon and The Netherlands in recent times and Everton would be making a smart move bringing him to Goodison Park this summer.
