Everton are reportedly keen on signing Benfica striker Haris Seferovic this summer.

A Bola claim the Toffees are ready to move for the Switzerland international, along with fellow Premier League club Southampton.

Seferovic’s stock is high at the moment having just had a very productive season over in Liga NOS.

The star hit 23 goals in the league in 29 appearances, and scored a further four in cup competitions.

The 27-year-old has been with the Portuguese giants since the summer of 2017, and has scored 34 goals in 80 games.

Benfica are said to be closing in on a move for Real Madrid’s Raúl De Tomás, which could open the door for Everton over Seferovic.

TBR’s view

Seferovic could well be the answer to Everton’s problems.

Last term, although Dominic Calvert-Lewin led the line admirably in the second half of the season, the Toffees were rather toothless in attack.

The young Englishman has shown encouraging promise but the club need a prolific marksman.

Seferovic certainly showed he is just that throughout 2018/19.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt star is an accomplished finisher both on the ground and in the air, with most of his goals coming from inside the area last term.
