Everton are reportedly set to compete with Real Betis for the signing of Saint-Etienne winger Denis Bouanga.
It was first reported at the weekend by the Sunday Mirror (17/05/20; pg63) that the Toffees might be keen on the player. It was suggested that Bouange could be available for just £8 million with the Ligue 1 side’s manager Claude Puel admitting they may have to sell.
Estadio Deportivo has since reported on the matter, suggesting that Everton will be battling Betis for his signature if they do indeed make a move this summer. Rennes are also keen whilst Puel is desperate to keep hold of the 25-year-old.

Everton’s interest is certainly justified after Bouanga’s impressive first season with the French side after joining from Nimes last summer.
Bouanga has scored 12 goals in 35 games for Saint-Etienne this season, despite the club’s struggles. He has also provided five assists, mostly from the left-wing.
Everton’s wide options have proved to be inconsistent in recent times, with the likes of Bernard, Theo Walcott, and Alex Iwobi all struggling to find form on a regular basis.
Bouanga appears to be a potential candidate to strengthen that area and at a bargain price.
Time will tell if Everton are genuinely serious about a move for the Gabon star.
