Everton have reportedly joined the race for Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino. According to Calcio Mercato, Carlo Ancelotti is keen on bringing in the Uruguayan midfielder this month to strengthen his side in the middle of the park.
The Italian club are looking to free up some wages so that they can finalise a deal for Tottenham man Christian Eriksen. Vecino has played 14 Serie A games this season but is no longer seen as a crucial player in Antonio Conte’s team.

Spurs have been linked with a swap deal for the 28-year-old but it now appears that Everton are keen to get involved in the pursuit. The report suggests that the Italian club would only require 15 to 20 million Euros to part way with Vecino, which is a very reasonable price for an experienced midfielder.
The Toffees require midfield reinforcements this month. Andre Gomes is still a way off a return to the squad and although Jean-Philippe Gbamin is nearing a return to action, his level of match fitness is unknown.

Vecino would fill the gap in the Everton midfield perfectly and could be well suited to the Premier League. He is a combative central midfielder that can be effective in both attack and defence. The Uruguay international has scored two goals and made two assists in all competitions this season despite not being a regular starter.
Inter will want to strengthen this month to aid them in their fight for the Serie A title. Vecino is likely to be allowed to leave and if the fee is as low as reported, it seems like a no brainer for Everton.
