Everton are now reportedly in the hunt to try sign Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson in the summer.

According to the Sun, the Toffees have joined Chelsea, Leicester City and West Ham in the race for the 27-year-old.

It is understood that Bournemouth want to keep hold of the England international despite a £40million race sparking for him.

The report further details that Everton boss Marco Silva is keen for a new traditional centre-forward ahead of next season.

The Merseyside club are in fact reigniting interest in Wilson, as they targeted him back in March 2018 (The Sun).

Wilson, who earns £40,000-a-week (Spotrac), is a part of the senior England squad and been in great form this season for Bournemouth.

The speed machine has made 26 appearances across all competitions for them, scoring 12 goals and supplying seven assists in return.

TBR’s View:

Wilson is certainly one of the best strikers outside of the top six clubs in the Premier League and would be a phenomenal addition at Goodison Park.

He is an all-action striker that is strong in most areas, as he’s got the pace to torment defenders and is also a physical presence good in the air.

Everton are crying out for a new forward at the top end of the pitch and Wilson really does tick all the boxes.

There would have to be question marks over the quoted £40million fee, but he’s proven he can score regularly in the top flight and should now be entering the peak years of his career.
