Everton are reportedly interested in attacker Allan Saint-Maximin from French top-flight club Nice.

According to Nice-Matin, the Toffees are joined by Newcastle United and Crystal Palace in eyeing the Ligue 1 dazzler.

The 22-year-old is a speed machine that has represented France in various youth levels and is attracting widespread interest from English clubs.

He’s a versatile attacker that can be deployed centrally or in his more favoured wide role, where he’s a nightmare for full-backs with his pace and trickery.

Saint-Maximin made 36 games across all competitions this season, scoring six goals and supplying four assists in return.

TBR’s View:

Saint-Maximin is an exciting talent emerging in France and he’s become a first-team regular for Nice in the top flight.

He’s got excellent individual quality on the ball and just needs to improve his end product to take his game to another level.

Everton need some more attacking ammunition next year and investing in a promising youngster like target Saint-Maximin may be a better approach than sticking with 30-year-old Theo Walcott next season at Goodison Park.

The Merseyside club need to make improvements next year to break into the European spots and going forward they need to become much better.

Silva’s influence on the team was beginning to shine through in the latter stages of the season and he should be backed to sign players he wants for the system.
