Everton are interested in Kristoffer Ajer this summer, but The Athletic reports that the Brentford defender may be out of the Toffees’ price range.
Frank Lampard’s men are gearing up for a huge summer after narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League. Certainly, the fans will be hoping for an improvement in the work they do in the market after a number of transfer mistakes in recent years.

The Athletic reports that Everton will, once again, be working with a limited budget. But they are set to make plenty of space on the wage bill.
One of their priorities is at centre-back. Reports have claimed that they have offered James Tarkowski a £90,000-a-week deal as he edges closer to becoming a free agent.

But they also have their eye on other options. And The Athletic reports that they are admirers of Ajer. However, the report notes that the Norwegian may be too expensive.
Ajer is the Bees’ record signing. They paid an initial £13.5 million for the 24-year-old. And he went on to make 24 appearances in his debut year in the top-flight.
Everton interested in Kristoffer Ajer
Ajer would be a superb signing for Everton if a deal was at all possible. Remarkably, he is only 13 games away from 300 career appearances at the age of 24. Meanwhile, he has 24 caps for Norway.
Thomas Frank previously suggested that he is a player with ‘huge potential‘. The defensive side of his game perhaps needs work. But he is outstanding on the ball, and is very confident when it comes to driving out of defence in possession.
It does appear that a bid coming in from Goodison Park may be unlikely as things stand. But he is certainly one player likely to be on Everton’s radar for some time to come.
