According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton are interested in signing Chelsea defender Malang Sarr, who is yet to make an appearance for the Blues.
What’s the story?
Well, Chelsea signed the 22-year-old on a free transfer last summer.
As often happens with free transfers, the lack of a transfer fee was accounted for with a higher salary, with Sarr earning £120,000-a-week.
However, the Frenchman spent last season on loan at FC Porto, and is yet to actually make a competitive appearance for Chelsea.
Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped Everton taking an interest in him – however, Bologna also want the centre-back.
Di Marzio claims a meeting will take place on Monday between Bologna and Sarr’s representatives – Rafa Benitez will surely be keen to hear the outcome of those talks.
What do Everton see in Malang Sarr?

Despite his lack of action at Chelsea, Sarr is a player with plenty of promise.
As talkSPORT mention, Barcelona were also interested in signing him while he was with OGC Nice.
Sarr plays with plenty of aggression, but is also a fine passer of the ball – talkSPORT liken his technical ability to that of David Luiz.

You may laugh, as the Brazilian was sometimes a comical centre-back, but his ability on the ball was never in question.
At 22, Sarr is already a competent defender, but one who has plenty of time to improve under Benitez.
As long as Chelsea don’t ask for a huge amount of money, this would be a great signing by the Toffees.
