All Nigeria Soccer have claimed Everton are one of a number of Premier League sides looking to sign England Under-16 international Malcolm Ebiowei on a free transfer, after being released by Arsenal.
Ebiowei looks an exciting talent. At just 16 years of age, the attacking midfielder made his Under-18 debut for Arsenal in August as a substitute during a 1-0 loss to Southampton. He has also played for England’s Under-16 side.
But the Gunners have surprisingly opted to release Ebiowei because of his ‘attitude’ and lack of ‘work ethic’. Now a free agent, Ebiowei is looking for a new home and Everton are keen. But they face competition from both Manchester clubs.
Pep Guardiola’s City are interested, but Manchester United are said to be winning the race to land the playmaker. That being said, the report also claims that Ebiowei’s parents are keen for him to move abroad.

TBR’s view – Everton must do their checks on Ebiowei
For Arsenal to get rid of a talent as highly-rated as Ebiowei because of his attitude and work rate speaks volumes. The Gunners are renowned for bringing through young players and giving them a chance.
So, for any interested parties including Everton, they must get in contact with Arsenal and find out why he was not given a scholarship. If his work rate is indeed that bad, The Toffees have got to be careful.
