Everton are said to be among the clubs interested in signing Independiente midfielder, Moises Caicedo, according to a report from Spanish outlet, Diario Extra.

Caicedo, 19, is said to be high on the wanted list of a number of clubs, including Manchester United. The teenager has been making waves over in Ecuador, and is thought to be open to a move away.

Everton are the latest club to be linked with a move, with Diario claiming the Toffees may have even moved ahead of United in the race.

Caicedo is a central midfield player who has already been given his chance as a full international. He’s won four caps for Ecuador so far and has already got his name on the scoresheet.

The Toffees have links to South America already, with James Rodriguez and Yerry Mina on the books. Ancelotti, then, may hope to use those players to prove to Caicedo that Merseyside is the place for him.

Caicedo has been making quite the splash across the Atlantic and for all the right reasons. Indeed, you don’t catch the eye of Manchester United without being a quality operator.

At just 19, he has so much time to progress and improve further and he could be a shrewd addition for Everton in the long-term.

Ancelotti has pulling power, too, meaning the Toffees might well win this race if it comes down to the player making a decision.
