Reports from Italy claim that Everton are now in pole position to sign Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira, with the German open to a move to England.
Calciomercato claims that Khedira is pushing for a move to the Premier League and it is Everton who are at the front of the queue to sign him.

Khedira, 33, is one of the most celebrated players in Germany thanks to his 77 caps and World Cup winning contribution back in Brazil during the 2014 tournament.
However, he has had a number of serious injuries and has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus, prompting thoughts of a move away from the club this January or in the summer. His contract expires in June next year, leaving him free to negotiate a move in the winter window if he pleases.

Everton already moved on the Serie A market in the summer to sign Napoli star, Allan. But they could be tempted by Khedira, who would bring experience and quality to the fold.
A fine player but his age and injuries should concern – TBR View
In his prime and at his best, Khedira was one of the best midfielders in the world. He’s played in Madrid and Turin, and you don’t do that without having brilliant talent.
However, at 33, you’d have to question if he is past his best now and what Everton would gain from signing him.
Of course, experience, and that all important winning mentality are big things to have. But it’s very much a short-term signing for the Toffees if they do press ahead with the move.
