Everton are hoping to beat the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United to the signature of Morgan Sanson this summer, according to a report from the Express.
Carlo Ancelotti is still awaiting the chance to make his first signing since arriving at Goodison Park. The Toffees added no players to their squad in January.
So perhaps the Marseille man may prove to be the Italian’s first addition when the summer arrives.
The Daily Express reports that Sanson has an agreement in place with the Ligue 1 side that will allow him to leave Stade Velodrome at the end of the season. And he has reportedly informed the club that he will indeed be looking to leave.
And it would seemingly be no surprise if he ended up heading to the Premier League.
The Daily Express reports that the Toffees are interested, along with Spurs, the Hammers, Southampton and Manchester United.
It is noted that by the Express that Ancelotti wanted Sanson while he was in charge of Napoli.
TBR View – Sanson could be a shrewd signing for Everton
Sanson would arguably be an exciting acquisition for the Toffees. He has excellent vision and an impressive passing range to go with it.
He has also scored 18 league goals since the start of the 2017/18 campaign, including four this season.
So his arrival could be extremely beneficial for a Toffees side who have arguably not produced enough goals from midfield this term.
