Everton have apparently sent scouts to get the lowdown on talented Marseille starlet Isaac Lihadji.

According to La Provence, the Toffees are monitoring the 17-year-old, who is an up-and-coming star in the French club’s youth academy.

Manchester United are also said to be tracking the youngster, who wants guarantees of first-team opportunities next season.

Lihadji is intent on staying at the club, but wants assurances about his prospects before committing.

He and his representatives are in talks, with an agreement still some way off at the moment.

Should there be no breakthrough, then Everton will hope they can prise the starlet from his hometown club.

Everton must be attentive to the situation with United and Barcelona also lurking.

Lihadji is a France U17 international with superb technical ability and an impressive burst of pace.

He has already been likened to Marseille first-teamer Florian Thauvin (Comoros Football), suggesting that Everton could well be looking at a gem.
