Ian Dennis has claimed on BBC Sport’s deadline day blog (Monday, 15:17PM) that Everton have made an enquiry to sign AFC Bournemouth striker Josh King, who is out of contract at the end of the season – but an offer is yet to be made.
King, 29, has been one of the most-talked about names in the transfer window this season, following Bournemouth’s relegation last summer. The 51-time Norway international’s contract situation also made him a target for top-tier clubs.
West Ham have been strongly linked but it appears Everton are to make a late move – after allowing Cenk Tosun to return to Besiktas. Dom Calvert-Lewin needs cover and former Manchester United attacker King has been identified by the Toffees.
Dennis claims Everton have made an enquiry to sign the Norwegian attacker – who has failed to score a goal for Bournemouth in 12 Championship appearances this season, but has scored three goals in two FA Cup games. No offer has been tabled.

TBR’s view – King is ideal for Everton before deadline
They’re running out of time and like West Ham’s decision to sell Sebastian Haller before bringing in a replacement, it is a strange one that Everton have left Tosun go before signing another striker – though Richarlison can cover.
If Everton can agree a fee for King, though, it would all make sense. A cut-price deal is likely, with today the last chance Bournemouth can bring in a fee for their striker. It is expected to be somewhat of a bargain, though.
