Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Everton have had a £24.7million bid rejected for AS Roma winger Cengiz Under, amid rumours Tottenham Hotspur want the Turkish star.
Under, 21, has caught the attention of many around Europe after having a hand in 17 goals for Roma this season. Despite his tender age, he has scored six goals and laid on an enormous 11 assists.
Turkish Football have claimed that both Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested in the 18-time Turkey international, despite the player supposedly being in Roma contract talks. Roma’s asking price is £44million.
Everton’s offer is some way off Roma’s reported valuation, then. But if the report is to be believed, then it suggests that the Toffees are certainly showing the most interest out of the three linked English sides – given they made a bid.
Everton have plenty of strong options on the flanks, with their best two options being Brazilian stars Richarlison and Bernard. Back-up options include Theo Walcott and Ademola Lookman.
But Lookman has been linked with a handful of other Premier League clubs, while many believe former Arsenal and England star Walcott has somewhat declined in recent seasons.
Under would be an excellent signing, but the likelihood of the Turk choosing Everton over a team in Europe is small.
