Everton have reportedly expressed an interest in bringing Daryl Dike to Goodison Park.

Eurosport claims that the Toffees have sent scouts to monitor the United States international, currently on loan at Barnsley from Orlando City.

Dike has made a big impression with the Tykes, scoring five goals in 11 appearances to fire the club into the Championship playoff places.

One of those goals was a fierce effort from a tight angle against Birmingham, a decisive strike which manager Valerien Ismael described as “something unbelievable”.

The 20-year-old’s loan spell finishes on 21 April, as he is due to return to Orlando in time for the new MLS season.

However, Dike has made such an impact for Barnsley in such a short space of time that one or more teams could potentially move for him.

BBC Sport claimed earlier in March that a Premier League top-six team made a $10million bid (£7.2million) for Dike, which was turned down by Orlando.

The 6ft 2in forward is said to have a $20million (£14.5million) release clause.

TBR View:

Dike is a talented young player who’s hit the ground running in English football and shown he has the potential to shine at the top level.

Having been compared to former Everton star Romelu Lukaku by teammate Jordan Williams due to his rocket of a foot and a penchant for finding the top corner, that gives an indication as to what he could offer the Toffees.
